In an act of solidarity and compassion, Asheville area restaurants—alongside the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association (AIR)—are activating the Benevolent Spirits campaign to raise critical funds for communities in Texas devastated by recent flooding. The effort will directly support the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, a program of the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.
“Having recently been through a similar experience, we know how important it is to quickly get funds into the hands of nonprofits, first responder agencies, and community groups providing immediate relief,” said Meghan Rogers, Executive Director of AIR.
From July 17–27, participating restaurants will offer a featured beverage—ranging from craft cocktails to mocktails, sangria, beer and other non-alcoholic options—and donate $1 from each drink sold to the relief fund. Guests can support the cause simply by enjoying a refreshing drink at their favorite local spot.
