Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager Position Available at Posana®

We are thrilled to announce that we are in search of an experienced kitchen professional to join our team as a Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager. The Kitchen Manager will play a proactive role in the daily operations of the kitchen, encompassing responsibilities such as maintaining food and safety standards, employee scheduling, overseeing food cost controls, assisting with menu rollouts and setups, managing food ordering, and ensuring consistent food quality and cook times. In addition, they will lead by example, contribute to cooking on the line as needed, and provide training for all back-of-house staff. The Kitchen Manager will report directly to the Executive Chef and General Manager.

Kitchen Manager Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory to ensure all necessary ingredients are stocked for service.
  • Facilitate the hiring and training of new staff to ensure quick acclimation.
  • Streamline kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and maintain the restaurant menu.
  • Establish and enforce regular cleaning standards for the kitchen, ensuring staff compliance with sanitation levels.
  • Create schedules for all kitchen staff.
  • Monitor kitchen finances to identify areas of potential waste.

Kitchen Manager Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Chef, Kitchen Manager, Assistant Kitchen Manager, or Kitchen Supervisor is required.
  • Food experience in a high-volume restaurant is preferred.
  • Knowledge of recipes.
  • Understanding of sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Certification and adherence to all Asheville N.C. Health Department and ServSafe guidelines are required.
  • A 2-year degree or 3 years of industry experience is preferred.
