The BOH Line Cook is responsible for delivering our highest quality food to our guests within company specifications. This position will be working with fresh, high-quality ingredients from local farmers, executing a unique fermentation-focused menu with a strong pizza component, in a casual Taproom environment. As a member of the BOH team, the Cook is responsible for maintaining consistency in food preparation, being a team player, and exhibiting positive and productive communication to teammates.

Essential Functions & Duties

  • Focuses on preparation and assembly of menu item plating and presentation
  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies
  • Preps / Cooks food to specified recipes and standards
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the workstation and overall kitchen
  • Adherence to our BOH systems and procedures and follows all SOPs
  • Answers, reports, and follows the direction of the management team
  • Holds self-accountable to company standards and is a team player
  • Communicates and works well with others
  • Prepares ingredients and supplies each day, using FIFO and proper cooking / cooling techniques
  • Has good time management skills and understands how to move quickly
  • Focuses on food and workplace safety
  • Works both the pizza and sauté line
  • Delivers food from kitchen to FOH in a timely matter
  • Follows all rules and regulations regarding food preparation and abides by safety protocols
  • Ready and willing to assist fellow cooks as situations arise
  • Assists with BOH dishes / cleaning schedule
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the sous chef or lead line cook

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of all basic cooking techniques
  • Sanitation and organization a must
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers
  • Excellent verbal communication skills

Physical Demands

Employees typically share a workstation with others in similar positions. Time spent conducting sedentary work is less than 25%. Requires walking, standing, kneeling and/or reaching for more than 75% of the workday. Lifting 30 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
