If this sounds like a place you’d like to work, we’re currently accepting applications for a Bartender at Buxton Hall Barbecue! Compensation is hourly base rate plus a share of the tip pool with very competitive wages. We’re looking for someone with strong cocktail experience behind the bar but also a great personality that fits well with our team. At least 2 years of craft cocktail experience and a good set of knowledge about beer and wine is necessary. Open availability is preferred.

Position Summary: A member of the bar team during service, mixing and serving all drinks for the restaurant, providing service to customers at bar and over the phone, as well as keeping the bar clean, organized, and stocked.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all bar prep, including (but not limited to): juicing citrus, cutting garnishes, and creating syrups
  • Responsible for drinks during service with consistent, high quality
  • Responsible for giving full service to patrons at the bar
  • Act as primary person responsible for answering phone and taking to-go orders during service
  • Keep the bar stocked and clean at all times.
  • Dust all bar shelves and wine/liquor bottles
  • Keep bar storage shelves clean and organized
  • Fill out bar opening and closing checklists
  • Provide support to FOH staff when needed
  • Communicating consistently with FOH staff and managers, as well as utilizing the bar-notes book at the end of the bar to communicate specials, 86’d items, and general thoughts on the bar.
  • Follow policies and procedures as described in employee handbook, including dress code, punctuality, and professional attitude
  • Maintain all ALE and ABC policies for alcohol service
  • Provide customers with mindblasting hospitality
  • Communicate ideas, needs and issues
  • Preserve and embrace company culture

Communication:

Provide ongoing feedback to FOH managers regarding bar needs
Monthly all-staff meeting
Twice a year individual check-in with FOH Management

Evaluation Metrics:

Positive reviews and comments from guests regarding hospitality, service, and quality of drinks
Positive feedback from co-workers regarding organization, cleanliness, and consistency behind the bar, as well as overall team support
