What is your favorite part of being a restaurant owner in Asheville?
Being a part of the culinary boom for the past 23 years – we love Asheville’s diversity!
What is the background of your restaurant’s name?
Our name has changed from Marco’s to 828 Family Pizzeria in January 2018. We chose that name because our community is our family, and we belong to our community. We have proudly served the 828 Family since 1994.
What ingredient could you not live without?
What is your favorite dish on your menu?
Our classic cheese pizza, which consists of our fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil – we couldn’t do what we do without that quality base.
What is your favorite dish from a fellow AIR restaurant’s menu?
We have to pick two – whole fish over drunken noodles from Gan Shan Station and Luella’s ring of fire chicken wings!
Why did you choose Asheville to open your restaurant?
Someone was simply looking out for us – and a little bit of luck.
What is your favorite chef’s tool and why?
Dough mixer, because it makes us a lot of dough!
